Join us each week as we gather to worship God, grow in faith, and build community. Our services offer meaningful moments of prayer, teaching, and fellowship for all who come seeking hope and connection.

Prayer Service & Bible Study

“We must learn to pray. We must. Prayer is the only entry way into genuine self-knowledge. It is also the main way we experience deep change – the reordering of our loves. Prayer is how God gives us so many of the unimaginable things he has for us. Indeed, prayer makes it safe for God to give us many of the things we most desire. It is the way we know God, the way we finally treat God as God. Prayer is simply the key to everything we need to do and be in life.”

- Tim Keller, Prayer

From its humble beginnings, CROWN has established itself as a “house of prayer.” The church reinforces the belief that nothing can be done without connecting with God first, to seek peace and guidance, as well as the welfare of our brothers and sisters, our neighbors, our family and friends, our community and people we don’t even know who “need lifting up.” Our prayer meetings consist of individual and corporate prayer and intercession. Prayer is the human practice that God uses to make thing happen.

Special Services

Sunrise Service

In a time of uncertainty, what better way to bring in the New Year than our traditional Sunrise Service on the grassy beach coast of the famed Luquillo’s La Pared. Every New Years day, we welcome a new spiritual season of thankfulness, which involves an intentional shift in perspective and the adoption of deeper daily spiritual practices. As we gather in fellowship surrounded by God’s beautiful creation, basking in the sights and sounds of His glorious sovereignty, this shift in focus helps to recognize God’s presence and purpose in all circumstances, both joyful and challenging, and invites personal growth and peace. We welcome all to join us and witness how gratitude helps move your attention from your problems to God’s presence and provision, offering an anchor of hope. Come. Bring a chair and allow His presence to wash over you.

Tenebrae Service

On the evening of Good Friday, we come together for a time to center our hearts on the full weight and wonder of Christ’s sacrifice. We cannot celebrate His resurrection on Resurrection Sunday without reflecting on the events that led up to His death, as the price for our sins. On this night, we are going to meditate on the passion of Christ. That is why we practice the 12th century tradition of Tenebrae. The purpose of Tenebrae service is to recreate the emotional aspects of the Passion story. We remember the betrayal, the abandonment and the agony of the events which leads up to Resurrection Sunday and the anticipation of our Lord Jesus Christ’s return. Before there was the light of the resurrection there was darkness.

The Tenebrae service, Latin for "shadows" or "darkness," is a solemn Holy Week tradition (held on Good Friday) that commemorates the passion and death of Jesus through the gradual extinguishing of candles. It symbolizes the betrayal of Jesus, the fleeing of the disciples, and the desolation of the crucifixion, allowing worshippers to experience the emotional depth of Christ’s suffering.

  • Symbolic Darkness: Candles are extinguished one by one, representing the abandonment of Jesus by his followers.

  • The Christ Candle: The final candle representing Christ is often hidden rather than extinguished, symbolizing his burial and the apparent, temporary victory of evil.

  • Strepitus (Loud Noise): A loud, jarring noise is often made at the end of the service, representing the earthquake that occurred upon Jesus' death and the closing of the tomb.

  • Reflection on Passion: Through scripture readings and hymns, the service provides a time for deep meditation on the sorrow and abandonment of Christ.

  • Transition to Hope: Though dark and somber, the service prepares believers for the celebration of Easter by emphasizing the magnitude of Christ's sacrifice
